BSE, NSE remain closed today for Maharashtra Day

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) are closed for trading on May 1 for Maharashtra Day – also Labour Day. The commodity markets i/c metal and Bullion, Indian bond markets and Forex market are also closed.

On Wednesday, April 30, stocks were affected intraday volatility whereby Sensex closed 35.78pts lower at 39031.55, Nifty50 was down 6.50pts to end at 11,748.20. About 1,772 shares declined, 737 shares advanced and 145 shares were unchanged.

The broader markets seen sharp sell offs on Tuesday, YES Bank shares encountered a massive hit after it posted a loss of Rs.1507-Cr for the Q4FY2019.

Banking/financials witnessed losses to a gr4eater extent. PNB Housing finance Ltd declined 9-pc and Dewan Housing Finance Corp slipped 7.29-pc.

Brent crude oil was at 72.7-dollar/ per barrel on Tuesday, while Indian rupee ended up at 69.56 against the Greenback.
