Markets settled on a strong note with both the Sensex and Nifty were up 0.8-percent each, for the week.
On Friday, the market closed with marginal gains with the Sensex, after having touched a record intraday high of 42,063.93, closed higher by 12.81-pts, or 0.03-pc at 41,945.37.
However, the Nifty ended lower by 3.15-pts or 0.03-pc to close at 12352.35. On a weekly basis, the Nifty closed with a weekly gain of 0.78-pc and the Sensex up by 0.80-pc.
Among the sectoral indices, the Nifty Bank index ended 1.58-pc lower, while the Nifty consumer goods index (FMCG) closed higher by 3.30-pc, and the Nifty Auto Index advanced over 2-pc for the week.
Broader market indices also closed with gains, led by the budget 2020 expectations. The Nifty-Mid-Cap index advanced 4-pc for the week.
Top Nifty Gaines and Losers: Among the Nifty gainers for the week, Bharti Airtel added 9.42-pc, Zee Entertainment gained 7.11-pc, Hindustan Unilever gained 5.44-pc, Britannia Industries added 4.51-pc and Eicher Motors advanced 4.21-pc for the week, as top Nifty gainers.
Also, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, HeroMotoCorp, Bajaj Finserve, Dr.Reddys, HCL Tech, and Titan company too added gains between 3 to 4-pc, for the Week.
Conversely, Bharti Infratel slipped 12.5-pc, Yes Bank lost 12.29-pc, IndusInd Bank dropped 9.32-pc, and State Bank of India pared 4.29-pc for the week, as the top Nifty losers for the week.
Further, Bharat Petroleum, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Indian Oil Corporation were also lower, down by 2 to 3-pc for the week.
