Indian stock benchmark ended flat on Friday with the BSE Sensex lower 26.87points at 35871.48, and in contrast Nifty was up 1.80-points at 10791.70 in a subsided market trend.
Indian OilCorp, Hindustan Petroleum, JSW Steel, BPCL and Vedanta were major Nifty-gainers, while Kotak Bank, Gail-India, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Finance were lowers.
Bank stocks sectorally closed mixed trend. Nifty Bank index went down 0.68percent, private Bank index falls 0.78percent while PSU bank index declined 0.77 percent. Among major sectoral gainers, Nifty metal (+1.65%), Realty (+1.55%) and Auto (+1.50%) advanced in trade.
Shares of Jindal Steel & Power gained 1.86percent after media reports suggested that the company emerged as the lowest bidder for 4.5-lakh tonne order from Indian railways.
