The Sensex and Nifty closed at a new record high, led by buying interest emerged in the Metal stocks with Tata Steel & Vedanta topped on both benchmarks. The rise in stocks of Housing Development Finance Co (HDFC) and HDFC bank added further impetus in benchmarks.
The BSE flagship Sensex closed at new attainment of 41352.17 up by 413-points, the broader Nifty also hit a new landmark at 12165, up by 111 points.
Profit booking opted in GAIL India stocks by the investors, whereby it became the top Nifty loser today. Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto, and M&M were the other few losers today from the Nifty stocks.
TataSteel, BhartiAirtel, Vedanta, Hindalco, and TataMotors were among the top gainers in the Nifty today.
Most stocks sectorally come out bullish with Nifty Bank rising 0.52-pc high at 32,140. The nifty Metal index climbed 2.88-pc and the Nifty technology index (IT) went up 1.88-pc for the day.
The Nifty Media also jumped 0.97-pc followed by the Nifty Financial Services by 0.95-pc, Nifty Auto by 0.61-pc and Nifty FMCG by 0.46-pc, while Nifty Realty and pharma fell the ground around 0.3-pc for the day.
