Share markets, after one day break, opened lower, with Nifty below 10,100-mark on Friday.
At 9.30am, the Sensex traded lower by 248 points at 37062-level while the Nifty stood at 10,950-mark, down by 78 points in trade.
Indiabulls Housing, Hindalco, Vedanta, JSW Steel and Wipro were among major losers is the Nifty, while UPL, Cipla, ONGC and Coal India led the gains.
All the Nifty sectoral indices were trading in the red, led by major loss in Nifty metal index which declined over 2 percent, followed by Nifty media and IT by 1 to 1.85%
Among stocks, Reliance Industries 0.69%, on profit booking by investors.
Shares in IDBI Bank declined 9.56% after the bank posted a Loss at Rs.3800-Cr for the quarter ending June-30.
Shares of Tata Motors declined 2% after Ratings down-graded by CRISIL.
