Markets close lower, BSE Sensex, fell 218.10 points

Today's Market Update, Money Maker Research, Market News, Market Update, Stock News, Top 10 Stocks Advisory in India, Top 10 Stock Advisory in Indore, Stock Advisory in Indore, BTST Call, free stock tips, intraday cash tips, Investment Advisory, Money Maker Research,Stocks Markets ended at negative note on Thursday after the govt raised import tariffs on select goods and the RBI announced steps to ease liquidity concerns. The BSE Sensex, fell 218.10 points to 36,324.17. The NSE Nifty logged in the worst F&O (Future and Option) series since February as it fell 6 percent or 76.25 points to 10,977.55.

Shares in Bharti Infratel, Tata Consultancy Services, Ultratech Cement, Asian Paints and Infosys were the top gainers on the NSE, while Yes Bank, Indiabulls Housing, Bajaj Finance, Bajan Finserve and Maruti SuzukBajaj have lost the most.  

Except Nifty IT, all the sectorial indices on the NSE closed in red. Shares of TCS, Oracle Financial Services and Infosys led the rise in Nifty IT Index.

Aviation company stocks fell after the govt hiked import duties on 19 non-essential items on Wednesday. Aviation stock such as Jet Airways (-4.61%), Indigo (-1.21%) and SpiceJet (-1.95%) edged lower.
