Indian stock market indices opened higher on Tuesday with Nifty above 11,700-level.
India rupee Opened lower by 7ps at 69.49/dollar on Tuesday versus 69.42 yesterday.
CrudeOil prices edged down on Tuesday for second consecutive day on OPEC output in focus.
Brent crude oil futures were at USD71.08 per barrel down 0.1 per cent, against last close of 0.5% on Monday. US WTI crude futures were at USD63.39 pb down 0.1%, from their previous settlement.
At 09:45-hrs the BSE Sensex is up 255points at 39161-levels, and the NSE Nifty was up 68points at 11759-levels.
ICICI Bank, Indian Oil Corp, Vedanta, Bharti Infratel and Coal India were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while on the other hand Infosys, Tata Motors, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Ultratech Cement and HDFCBank were losers.
All the sectoral indices, except Nifty Realty were trading in green led by major gains in Banking, metal, pharma, energy and auto.
As per provisional exchange data, ForeignPortfolio investors bought shares net valued Rs713.22crore on 15-April 2019, and Domestic institutional investors purchased shares worth Rs581.36crore.
