Market extend gains in the morning trade with the Sensex rising more than 150 points after two days consolidation and despite the correction in Asian cues. At 11.15 AM, BSE Sensex is trading at 31405 up 159 points or 0.51 percent, while Nifty is trading at 9676 up 39 points or 0.40 percent. The market breadth as about 1537 share advancing against 723 declining shares and 105 shares are unchanged on NSE. A total of 74 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 17 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The broader markets outperformed benchmarks, with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rising 0.56 percent and 0.80 percent.
The Indian rupee has opened at 64.75 against the dollar on Thursday, marginally higher than its previous close on Yesterday.
SBI, ITC, Bank of Baroda, Asian Paints, and Maruti Suzuki were early gainers while ONGC, Bajaj Auto, GAIL, NTPC, and Bharti Infratel were underpressure.
